In the seconds before death, your life is supposed to flash before your eyes. The last photo album of an innocent bystander.
Some of us will be here for a long time. Others for just a good time. Like our wines.
We%27ve spent our lives striving to grow and make great wines. Still working at it. Meanwhile, what really counts?
A great impression ... fond memories ... was it fun? We hope, that like the bystander, these wines tread gently, judge nobody and most of all, leave a lasting impression.

&$sangiovese=
This classic blend of Tuscany was always bred and trained to be food wine.
In Australia, they can%27t give Sangiovese away. Meanwhile, the endless planting of Chardonnay shows no respite.
Is everyone crazy?
Sure Sangiovese can be a bit dusty, tarry and dry by itself: but marry in the juicy, succulent, green/black olive, sour plums and spice of cool climate Merlot...
And PRESTO, Chinese restaurant in a bottle.
Sangiovese from the King Valley, Northern Victoria. Merlot from the Giant Steps Vineyard, Yarra Valley. Vinified in the Yarra Valley and bottled under screw cap.
Nose
Asian spices/Peking duck. Nutmeg and star anise. Sweet plum sauce. Hints of tar and earth.
Palate
Savoury stewed plums. Fine red dust. White pepper. 5-spice. Slippery (in the nicest possible way) and velvet, yet lassoes-in the tail with a touch of fruit acid.
&$voignier=
Australia is famous for its big, sweet, jammy and alcoholic Shiraz. This is not one of those.
Sure they%27re impressive, but we were looking for a great drink.
This classic blend of the Northern Rhone is a terrific food wine.
Central Victoria is much cooler than the traditional planting grounds for Aussie Shiraz. Here, the fruit ripens slowly.
We get white pepper, violets and blueberries with that elusive chewy but not tannic finish.
A dash of Viognier brings out a teasing ethereal quality... somewhere between honeysuckle and a whiff of Turkish Delight.
Shiraz from mature vines in the Heathcote and Strathbogie regions of Central Victoria. Viognier from the King Valley in North Eastern Victoria. Vinified in the Yarra Valley and bottled under screwcap.
Nose
Violets, liquorice and aniseed. Freshly ground white pepper. Raw bread dough. Slate...rain on hot blue stone or concrete.
Palate
Rambunctious and funky... Summer pudding. Blueberries and blueberry jam. Soft and chewy. Medium length.
&$gris=
The classic style of Alsace. Bred for food.
Next big thing?
Been around for ever actually.
In Australia we are hung up on Chardonnay and Sem-Sav Blanc (great name!)
But for all you ABC* drinkers, this one%27s for you... A chewy, almost crunchy white style that goes great with Strasburg sausage, fish and spicy food.
Fruit from Victoria%27s Alpine Valleys and Gladysdale. Vinified in the Yarra Valley and bottled in June under screw cap.
Nose
Peach seed. Almond kernel. Lifted honeysuckle and apricot.
Palate
Pristine style... pear juice. Poire William. Soft, slippery, full and luscious. Slight hints of autolyzed yeast with nuts.
*ABC - anything but chardonnay
&$rose=
Ros%E9 for grown ups.

Alternatively you can try our 2007 Growers Rose at our cellar door. We do take orders (6 bottles or more) for this wine should you need some delivered!
The Yarra Valley produces lots of Pinot Noir.
Recently growers have been having trouble selling their Pinot! Doesn%27t everyone love Pinot?
What do you do with all that Pinot Noir without making Pinot Noir?
Sparkling?... Been done.
We kept thinking of Provence and long afternoons drinking Bandol.
Why not?...and this is what we got.
Vinified in the Yarra Valley and bottled in June under screw cap.
Nose
Rose water. Flowers, blossom and the aromas of spring. Shaved fennel.
Palate
Racy plum juice and blackcurrant. Ripe, fuller bodied style than we usually see in Australia. Crisp, zippy fruit finishing with a long cut. Cherry bomb, maraschino and berry coulis.
