2017 Pinot Gris
Pinot Gris is everyone’s mate. This cheeky, citrus-driven French style white is refreshing, easy going and lingers just long enough. Not too fresh, not too oaky. The Goldilocks of the whites.
Region: Yarra and King Valleys
Smells like: Fresh cut pears, snow peas shoots and lemon thyme
Tastes like: Lime flowers and miso. Crisp, bone dry and moreish with twangy lemon sorbet finish
Goes with: Beer battered whiting with chips and tartare, fresh oysters, goats cheese and char grilled vegies. Sunshine, but also rain, hail and snow (basically anytime, all the time)

“I like this style of gris. It retains a freshness and lively palate feel and doesn’t fall into that overdone heavy category that can sometimes mar this variety. Comes from the King and Yarra valleys. Nice melon and pear characters with a typical spicy lift. A little dab of French oak and lees stirring has brought the palate to life.”
