Critics’ tasting notes

  1. “Aussie Moscato doesn’t come better than this. Bright fuchsia colour with a fine froth of foam; pristine muscat aromatics and intense fruit flavour, which persists and satisfies, and doesn’t rely on sugar. Ageing: Don’t wait.”

    94/100

    Huon Hooke

  2. “Pretty pink and light-hearted, the succulent Innocent Bystander Moscato is only partially fermented to preserve gently foaming bubbles, grapey sweetness and zesty acidity at a very low alcohol level. Perfect with fresh fruit or light pastries, it is sourced from muscat-family grapes grown on the Murray River’s Victorian side. The best place to sip it is at Innocent Bystander’s welcoming Healesville Yarra Valley HQ, where it is on tap, but it is widely distributed in the bottle, and sometimes even cans. It is sheer fun to drink.”

Ralph Kyte-Powell - Sydney Morning Herald

  3. “Bright neon pink. Heady red berry liqueur, tangerine and floral scents are sharpened by a peppery element and a hint of spice cake. Juicy, gently sweet and expansive, offering intense raspberry and cherry compote flavours that are reined in by a hint of tangy acidity. Finishes smooth and broad, with resonating red fruit and floral notes and good cling. This delicious, ridiculously easy-to-drink wine clocks in at 5.5% alcohol, by the way. It would make a great pairing with spicy northern Indian food.”

  4. “One of the first out of the 2014 vintage blocks, this leading pop star is a vibrant mid-pale pinkie, weighs in at 5.5% alcohol and has a bubbly personality from the start with delicate honey and strawberry-like lifts and the same lines in the tasting, yet its sweetheart also has a zesty lime tang to it that sets the mouth buzzing and keeps the wine fresh and more-ish.”
