We’ve always loved Prosecco. So we gave making one a go, and it turned out pretty pucker. Clean, crisp and fruit driven. A sure win at any party, or any night of the week around a good cheese plate.

Region: King Valley

Alc/Vol: 9%

Smells like: Citrus, melon, lemon, almonds and honey

Tastes like: White peach, guava and lemon zest with a clean crisp finish

Goes with: Seafood, namely shellfish and crab meat, pasta with asparagus and creamy sauce. Those moments when you want to feel a bit fancy

Wine making: Sourced from Australia’s spiritual home of Italian wines, the King Valley. Long, warm summer days and cool nights mirror the conditions of the varietal’s home in Veneto.

  • King Valley Prosecco fruit
  • Harvested in the cool of night
  • Juice is pressed to stainless steel tanks for a long cool ferment
  • Aged on yeast lees in tank
  • Secondary ferment, in October creating natural bubbles
  • Bottled under pressure
  • Natural carbonation is achieved by fermentation
  • Vegan-friendly

Critics’ tasting notes

  1. “The change of batons at this winery has meant a new take on one of their more popular wines. Clean and crisp and ideal with a cheese platter at the end of a good dinner or even before.”

Peter Chapman, APN News & Media

  2. “This fresh sparkling non-vintage wine is a slightly drier style but with some lees work also offers a degree of palate texture. Leaves the palate clean and fresh. Nice wine for current drinking.”

    Ray Jordon, West Australian

  3. “Prosecco is the hot new fizz of the moment, out-trending champagne in some parts of the world. Price is one thing, but good clean fun is another. This scores on both counts: an easy drinking fizz with lemon tang and a subtle sweetness.”

    3.5 Stars

    Tony Love, The Herald Sun

  4. “With only 9 per cent alcohol, this wine is great for lunchtime drinking. It is light gold with brassy tints, has mild effervescence and musk scents. Fresh white peach flavour shows on the front palate and guava, lemon zest and cashew characters chime in on the middle palate. Flinty acid comes through at the finish.”

    4 Stars

    John Lewis, Newcastle Herald

  5. “Light, bright yellow colour, with a thick layer of foam on top. The aroma is fresh, floral, clean and creamy, spanking new and bright, with fairly neutral but refreshing flavour. There’s a judicious touch of sweetness and the palate is very approachable and pleasant. A straightforward and very young sparkler, but quaffable and quite refreshing.”
